Purpose of Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ambulatory Phlebectomy is performed to remove superficial varicose veins that are close to the surface of the skin. It aims to alleviate symptoms such as pain, discomfort, and swelling, as well as improve the aesthetic appearance of the legs.
Procedure
During Ambulatory Phlebectomy, small micro incisions, typically less than 2-3mm in size, are made along the path of the varicose veins. Special hooks or instruments are then used to remove or “strip” the veins through these tiny incisions. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, allowing you to go home on the same day.
Anesthesia
