Conditions Treated
Chronic Venous Insufficiency
Chronic Venous Insufficiency is a medical condition where the veins in the legs have difficulty returning blood to the heart, leading to symptoms such as leg swelling, varicose veins, pain, and skin changes.
Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are enlarged, often twisted or tortuous-appearing veins that commonly occur in the legs, resulting from weakened or damaged valves within the veins which cause visible bulging veins under the skin.
Varicose Veins in Pregnancy
Varicose veins in pregnancy are a common occurrence due to increased blood volume, hormonal changes, and pressure on the veins from the growing uterus, often causing discomfort and swelling in the legs.

Varicose Veins in Men
Varicose veins in men can develop as a result of factors such as weight lifting, prolonged standing or sitting, obesity, genetic predisposition, or occupations that involve heavy lifting, with symptoms including leg pain, fatigue, and visible vein enlargement.
Spider Veins
Spider veins are small, red, blue, or purple hued blood vessels that appear close to the skin's surface, resembling spider webs or tree branches, commonly found on the legs or face, and can be associated with conditions such as chronic venous insufficiency or hormonal changes.
Venous Ulcers
Venous ulcers are open sores that develop when chronic venous insufficiency causes poor circulation, leading to increased pressure and damage to the skin and underlying tissues, usually occurring on the lower legs and ankles.
Leg Swelling
Leg swelling, also known as peripheral edema can have a number of different causes, including chronic venous insufficiency, resulting in fluid retention and enlargement of the legs.

Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless Leg Syndrome is a disorder characterized by an uncontrollable urge to move the legs, often accompanied by uncomfortable sensations, which can be worsened by conditions like chronic venous insufficiency.
Deep Vein Thrombosis

Our Services

Duplex Venous Ultrasound
Duplex Venous Ultrasound is a type of non-invasive medical imaging used to evaluate the veins in your legs. It uses a technique that combines ultrasound and Doppler technology to evaluate the structure and blood flow within the veins, assisting in the diagnosis of conditions such as venous insufficiency.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat superficial venous reflux in the larger veins of the leg by delivering controlled heat energy to the affected vein, causing it to close and redirect blood flow to healthier veins, resulting in improved circulation and relief from symptoms.

Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT)
Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) is a minimally-invasive procedure for superficial venous insufficiency where a laser fiber is inserted into the vein, emitting laser energy to heat and seal the vein, leading to improved blood flow and diminished symptoms.

Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Ambulatory Phlebectomy is a minimally invasive outpatient surgical procedure used to remove superficial varicose veins through micro incisions. The minimally-invasive nature of this technique allows patients a quicker recovery with minimal scarring.

Venaseal
Venaseal is a minimally invasive treatment option for superficial venous reflux that involves the use of a medical adhesive. The adhesive is injected into the affected vein, sealing it shut and rerouting the blood flow to healthier veins, resulting in symptom relief and improved circulation.

Foam Sclerotherapy
Foam Sclerotherapy is used in the treatment of superficial venous reflux and varicose veins. It is injected into the affected veins, causing them to close off, leading to improved blood flow and reduction in symptoms.

Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy
Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat varicose veins by injecting a foam sclerosant directly into the affected veins under ultrasound guidance. The foam displaces the blood in the vein, causing it to close off and be absorbed by the body, leading to improved blood flow and diminished symptoms.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical treatment option for spider veins and smaller varicose veins. A sclerosing solution is injected into the veins, which leads to the closure of the veins. Over time, the body absorbs the closed veins, resulting in improved cosmetic appearance and alleviation of symptoms.

What are varicose veins?
Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen, and often painful veins close to the skin. They most often occur in the legs and can be a sign of venous insufficiency, or failure of the valves in the veins. For a variety of different reasons, the valves that normally propel blood back to the heart can become incompetent or fail, which allows blood to flow backwards. This backward blood flow is what causes these superficial veins to become engorged and enlarged.
If left untreated, varicose veins may worsen over time and can lead to complications, such as blood clots, skin inflammation and discoloration, and even skin ulceration or bleeding at advanced stages of the disease. Schedule your consultation with Dr. Parikh, our board certified Vascular Surgeon, to seek treatment for your varicose veins and prevent progression of the disease.
